CGR Products can apply an acrylic-based, pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) to a wide range of products.
3M’s acrylic adhesive has a strong initial bond that improves over time and adheres well to many surfaces. Acrylic adhesives have excellent aging characteristics, outstanding chemical and ultra-violet light resistance, and higher temperature stability than rubber based adhesives.
Acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives are optimal for long-term, durable applications.
CGR Products is a 3M Preferred Converter, and utilizes a variety of cutting methods to ensure your product meets the shape and dimensions that you require with the utmost precision.
The Benefits of Acrylic
Acrylic is widely resistant to the weathering and aging that compromises so many adhesives especially when exposed to UV rays, moisture, and chemicals. Acrylic adhesives even maintain stability when exposed to high temperatures making it the go-to adhesive for thermal applications.
When acrylic will not bond to a substrate or the adhesive needs different properties most often a rubber based compound is then applied. Rubber based adhesives do not perform particularly well in extreme temperatures (+130° F) and will fall prey to weathering but they do provide elasticity properties and bond well to low energy surfaces such as polypropylene and polyethylene. We also offer silicone-based adhesives for high temperature applications.
It is also important to consider the liner that will be used with your pressure-sensitive adhesive. The liner can be critical in ease of manufacturing and how well the part works in the field. It may be necessary to add a tab for easier liner removal.
