Slitting and splitting are shearing operations used to cut large rolls or sheets into narrower or thinner rolls or sheets to produce gaskets and seals.
CGR Products offers slitting and splitting of a variety of materials utilizing the technology of displacement slitting (more commonly known as baloney slitting), a process whereby rolled materials are automatically slit without unwinding/rewinding. CGR splits/skives materials utilizing a Fecken-Kirfel Loop Skiver.
At CGR, we can process rolls up to 60 inches wide and slit to custom widths as narrow as .25”. Our equipment can process a variety of materials, including paper, felt, tape, and both open and closed cell foam. We can supply the material or work with yours — it’s up to you.
CGR can split (skive) sheets or rolls of sponge rubber from 25-250 feet long, up to 56″ wide, and up to 10″ thick. We can split materials down to .062” thick with normal tolerances held to RMA standards.
We stock a variety of closed cell sponge rubber, sponge stripping, and closed cell sponge with pressure sensitive adhesive.
